Unique Art
"Above the clouds" is a serene artwork capturing the minimalist beauty of stratocumulus clouds against the backdrop of outer space. Created with acrylic, white charcoal, and delicate white thread, it evokes a tranquil and expansive atmosphere, blending earthly and cosmic elements seamlessly.
Herstory
“Space above the clouds” was created using the subconscious mind exploring creative simplistically. Using watercolor paper, phthalo blue, silkscreen squeegees, thread, fabric medium, and silicone shapers each composition is created based on feeling. This collection was about having fun and stripping down the creative process to the basic art principles of unity, balance, and pattern. Only after creating I'm able to connect the factoring influence of the composition of my inner feelings. 1 year prior to creating "Above the clouds" I went on a trip New Mexico with my husband to see one painting in the Georgia Okeffee Museum. Unfortunately the painting, starlight night wasn’t on display but I did view “Above the clouds I” .The painting was immensely captivating so much so that I desired to make my own version of the artwork using my own style. One year later , I created “space above the clouds” which reminded me of this trip after reflecting on the painting. Although “Space above the clouds” wasn’t a painting initially inspired by “Above the clouds I” I see similarities in the work based on artistic principles choices within its creation.
