The Paper clouds series was inspired by whimsical freedom in the absence of adult responsibility through minimalist creative expression . Ellis explored simplicity using the subconscious mind to create free form texture cloud compositions with basic lines and curves. Each composition combines serene blue tones, stitched white thread, charcoal and natural fabric medium creating soft relief textures adding dimension .This collection was about having fun and stripping down the creative process to the basic art principles of unity, balance, and pattern.
